COVID-19 Response
“
We’ve been proud to partner with numerous organizations to support frontline workers who kept us healthy and safe during this pandemic.
It’s our responsibility to help however we can.
Tucker Trotter, CEO, Dimensional Innovations
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve recognized the significant need for personal protective equipment (PPE) and vaccination delivery systems across the globe. Healthcare providers, frontline workers and first responders need access to reusable, mobile solutions to provide greater protection against the transfer of airborne virus and aerosols.
Our team has been willing to combat this challenge head on. By partnering with incredible organizations to help support those who have been most susceptible, we've developed face shields, intubations boxes, mobile health systems and more to provide much needed relief.
RaMHS
(Rapid modular health system)
We are proud to partner with Black & Veatch for the branding, signage and lattice work on their RaMHS, a mobile medical solution that extends secure site-based screening, testing and vaccination for COVID-19 and influenza.
Their RaMHS units, available as both modular structures and vehicles, contain the supporting equipment to store and maintain testing samples, vaccinations and clinical supplies to minimize the risk of COVID-19 exposure to the community. They are 4G wireless enabled, secure, temperature-controlled and customizable for staff comfort and organizational branding.
Black & Veatch was awarded the top Edison Award in the category of Mobilizing for Emergency Response in 2021.

Protect KU
The University of Kansas' proactive, science-based approach to reopening campus and curbing the spread of COVID-19 in Lawrence, Kansas.
Vaccine Van
While vaccinations for COVID-19 are becoming more accessible, there is still a significant barrier for many to receive the shots quickly and safely. A RaMHS, mobile solution from Black & Veatch, we helped support the branding and signage efforts of Comeback KC to effectively administer vaccines through their Vaccine Van. Servicing the Kansas City community, the van will be delivering vaccines door-to-door and at assisted living centers, churches and public facilities.

Face Shields
In collaboration with InStore Design Display, The Center for Design Research at the University of Kansas, and The University of Kansas Health System, we developed an open-source face shield designed to help combat the global shortage of face protection for medical professionals fighting COVID-19.
Working closely with our partners, we ideated different concepts and mockups on the shield’s design, ensuring safety and mobility for the wearer. The University of Kansas Health System provided immediate and valuable feedback to Dimensional Innovations’ lab with crucial information to make the shield more functional while still being quick and easy to manufacture anywhere.
The shield consists of two interlocking plastic parts cut from a clear plastic sheet material, providing significant durability, chemical resistance and excellent formability for manufacturing. Instructions for the face shield, still available here, were downloaded thousands of times by users all over the world and covered by Forbes, Inc. Magazine and numerous news outlets.

Intubation Boxes
As PPE production was still limited, we also saw a significant need for protective barriers for physicians and patients during the intubation process. So we created an intubation box that provided a protective barrier for anesthesiologists and physicians to utilize, helping prevent the spread of COVID-19 within
Made from clear acrylic, the intubation boxes are easy to clean after use and have the ability to greatly decrease exposure to germs or COVID-19. Many orders of intubation boxes helped local hospitals and healthcare facilities, including Kansas City-based Olathe Medical Center.
Reusable
Acrylic is cleanable and antimicrobial, providing a solution that anesthesiologists can use numerous times
Intubation
The process of opening a patient's airway. This is a very susceptible time for both healthcare provider and patient to become exposed
