Entrepreneur: Dimensional Innovations Looks for Eclectic Mix of Skills

Tucker Trotter, CEO of Dimensional Innovations Inc., joined the company 20 years ago as a design intern. At the time, it had 13 employees, six of whom were the original founders.

Today, the design and fabrication company has about 183 employees with a variety of backgrounds, including architects, entrepreneurs, welders, shipbuilders and designers. One practice director even has a biology degree.

Clearly, Trotter hires eclectic people, but he does so because the company itself is so unique and ever-changing.

“If you’re an architecture firm, then you need a bunch of architects, right?” he said. “But for us, since we’re a brand experience … we do so many things that by the nature of what we do, we need an eclectic mix and a diverse group.”
