Burns & McDonnell Headquarters

Environmental Branding

Burns & McDonnell, made up of more than 5,700 engineers, architects, construction professionals, scientists, consultants and entrepreneurs with offices across the globe, wanted to communicate and visualize its company culture and values within its Kansas City headquarters.

An integrated team consisting of members of Burns & McDonnell’s in-house marketing team in collaboration with outside design consultant, DesignHaus, designed and developed a comprehensive rollout to brand their interiors in order to help them reach their goal through environmental graphics, branding elements, dimensional lettering, featured wall elements, wayfinding and specialty signage throughout roughly 310,000 square feet of office space. Dimensional Innovations was pleased to be involved with the fabrication and installation.

From subtle messaging to bold colors, the building is visually interesting and engaging for both employees and clients.

Burns & McDonnell is consistently named one of the best companies to work for by several national publications.

“Being a best place to work allows us to attract and hold on to the most innovative and client service-oriented people in the industry” said Ray Kowalik, Burns & McDonnell Chairman and CEO. “Our commitment to our clients is that we have the best people who work the hardest on their behalf.”

…the Hy-Vee Hot Zone is a memorable experience because of some of the elements that were implemented for the first time; such as the use of the fire in the stage and signage, the Airstream, and the heavy use of technology in the space.
