KCP&L Light Wall

This entry is part 5 of 14 in the series Civic/Transit/Government

Dimensional Innovations was asked to join Confluence as a design-assist/design-build partner to help bring the light wall concept to life at the newly built Kansas City Power and Light District (KCP&L).

As the naming rights sponsor of the new civic and entertainment area, KCP&L wanted a distinctive look for the artwork that came with the sponsorship package. Dimensional Innovations delivered a custom and unique look for both KCP&L and design partner Confluence.

DI created four double-faced sign cabinets and one main, V-shaped single-faced cabinet using an aluminum frame and sheeting with quarter-inch P-95 acrylic faces. The walls are illuminated from the bottom with LED blue pixel pucks every five linear feet, and each is independently operated for customized animation.
