April 7, 2014
The Kansas City Royals through a partnership with Alexander Open Systems (AOS) has opened the AOS Technology HotSpot. Designed and built by Dimensional Innovations (DI), the AOS Technology HotSpot will serve as the technology and social media headquarters at Kauffman Stadium.
The Kansas City Royals AOS Technology HotSpot, allows fans to follow social media conversations about the Royals in real time, contribute to the conversations, charge their mobile devices, interact with MLB applications and more with 10 HP tablets. The social media headquarters will also include four screens that will display fan tweets, Instagram photos, live games and more.
“We were looking for a fresh way to engage fans on our social media platforms during a visit to Kauffman Stadium,” said Michael Bucek, Vice President-Marketing & Business Development. “Given the great work we’ve done with Dimensional Innovations in the past, we knew they were a perfect fit to create this interactive fan experience.”
The Royals engaged DI to take social media and move it to a social experience. The social experience leverages fans enthusiasm for the Royals thereby creating a perfect activation for AOS. Dimensional Innovations developed the design and brand of this league- leading experience.
“Competition for the fans’ attention remains high and we were excited to work with the Royals to create an experience the Royals fans will enjoy all season long,” said Justin Wood, Vice President and Sports Practice Director at Dimensional Innovations. “The Royals are among league-leaders by creating this unique social experience zone.”
Fans will be able to interact with the Royals social media team during games as they monitor and post content from the command center.
The “AOS Technology Hotspot” located behind the Diamond Club at Kauffman Stadium opened on Opening Day 2014.
